Family of Iron members are given an opportunity to improve their mental and physical health for the long-term with the resources provided by AISF, including: sports/program specific coaching, habit change guidance, nutrition and fitness education, accountability, and a positive environment to support their lifestyle change.
AISF partners with American Iron Gym to provide a unique training facility with state-of-the-art equipment that is unlike any other gym in the world. In addition, American Iron Gym brings coaches of a wide range of skills sets, including powerlifting, strongman, functional training, nutrition education, and more.
The American Iron Sport Foundation is proud to partner with local high schools to provide a youth strength program centered around the sport of Powerlifting. AISF understands that participating in sports can be expensive for many families, and not always accessible for youths. In addition, many youths do not find success in traditional high school sports. These challenges lead to less engagement in organized sports and, therefore, are more likely to engage in risky behavior. AISF strives to provide another sport opportunity for youths who want to increase their athletic ability for sports and/or youths who prefer not to engage in traditional team sports. This program is offered to high school aged students in our community to learn the fundamentals of powerlifting, to train alongside peers, and to ultimately compete in a sanctioned powerlifting meet. This program includes once weekly, in-person lifting sessions with our skilled coaching staff, additional programmed training sessions to complete on their own, nutrition resources, and competition essentials.
The American Iron Sport is proud to partner with our local Veteran’s Affairs Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) to provide a Veteran’s strength program centered around the sport of Powerlifting. AISF recognizes the challenges faced by Veterans who are reintegrating into civilian life, while managing service-related conditions. In response, AISF provides a Veteran-specific strength training program that reinforces structure, discipline, and social stimulation. This program is easily accessible and allows participants to learn the fundamentals of powerlifting, to train alongside peers, and to ultimately compete in a sanctioned powerlifting meet. In addition, Veterans will see improved mental and physical health, as well as increased community involvement. AISF provides participants with American Iron Gym memberships, in-person training sessions with our skilled coaching staff three times a week, additional mobility programming, nutrition resources, and competition essentials.
AISF is proud to partner with the local Awaken organization. Awaken acts to transform our community with the ultimate goal of eradicating commercial sexual exploitation. Awaken aims for victims of commercial sexual exploitation to be restored to their fullest potential. In support of these women restoring their fullest potential, AISF provides a monthly class for Awaken clients that includes fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness resources.
AISF offers a program for Seniors who are 60+ years of age. Seniors work with AISF coaches twice weekly, with emphasis on building strength, improving quality of life, and reinforcing the confidence to complete Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). In addition, Seniors have access nutrition and other wellness resources.
AISF offers a sponsored gym membership to American Iron Gym for Veterans who participate in the voluntary CAMO-RNO program with the Reno Justice Court System. This Alternative Sentencing program requires Veterans to complete self-improvement hours, along with many other services. Veterans who are participating can choose to execute these self-improvement hours at American Iron Gym where they will find a positive environment to work on their mental and physical health.
The American Iron Sport Foundation hosts 4-8 strength competitions per year in partnership with American Iron Gym. Proceeds from all events go towards supporting the American Iron Sport Foundation.
